El \u00e1rbol tambi\u00e9n es conocido por algunas personas como \u00e1rbol de l\u00e1piz labial o simplemente \u00e1rbol de achiote. M\u00e1s que un \u00e1rbol parece un arbusto con capullos de un color rojo anaranjado brillante que al secarse se vuelven de color marr\u00f3n. Estos capullos llevan las semillas dentro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dependiendo de d\u00f3nde vaya, el achiote tendr\u00e1 diferentes nombres. En Venezuela se le llama onoto, mientras que en Colombia se le conoce como bixa y urucu en Brasil. Solo tienes que moler las semillas en una licuadora o mortero y maja. Lo mejor del polvo es que puede durar hasta un par de a\u00f1os si se almacena en un lugar fresco y seco. La mejor forma de guardarlo es en un envase de cristal con tapa. Se elabora con jugo de naranja amarga, ajo, sal, or\u00e9gano, cilantro, comino, granos de pimienta negra y por supuesto semillas de achiote. Mezclas todos estos ingredientes juntos hasta hacer una pasta. Para almacenar preferiblemente en tu refrigerador por no m\u00e1s de dos semanas. La pasta de\u00a0 a veces es m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil de encontrar localmente y es por eso que muchas personas prefieren prepararla en casa. Hacer aceite de achiote es tan simple como tomar su aceite preferido y b\u00e1sicamente fre\u00edr las semillas de achiote hasta que todo su aceite se infunda con el color y el aroma de las semillas. Cuando hagas este aceite, tu cocina oler\u00e1 muy bien. Para almacenar el aceite lo mejor es guardarlo en un bote de cristal. Algunas personas sugieren mantener el aceite solo durante 2 semanas, pero yo lo conservo un par de meses y siempre es bueno.
