Pastelillos de Guayaba

Step 1

First, heat the guava paste. Mash it until smooth. Add some water and mix until is well incorporated.

Step 2

Cut each sheet of puff pastry into 9 equal squares. This will make regular-size pastelillos but you can make them smaller.

Step 3

Add 1 tablespoon of guava paste to each square. Make sure to place it in the middle.

Step 4

Wet your finger and run it through the border of each of the 9 squares. Press softly the borders to seal them.

Step 5

Place all of your pastelillos de guayaba in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25 minutes.

Step 6

Sift powdered sugar over the pastelillos. Make sure you are very generous with the sugar!
