One of the most nostalgic cold desserts in Puerto Rico has to be this Puerto Rican Limber de Crema. This is one of those perfect desserts because anyone can make them because it is made with simple everyday ingredients.

The Puerto Rican Limber de Crema is one of my favorites from the creamy limbers, like the mantecado flavor limber and the nutella chocolate flavor limber.
This is one of those recipes that makes you think of home, no matter where in the world you are. Memories of buying Limber in random houses in any given neighborhood.
So if you’re a Puerto Rican living on the island, now you can make Limber at a fraction of the cost. Because they’re super expensive nowadays.
But if you’re part of the Puerto Rican diaspora like myself, welcome home with this recipe! If you never had this, then welcome to the club of delicious Puerto Rican recipes.

Recipe Ingredients

- Milks-We need a combination of milks to get the right taste. We use fresh milk, evaporated milk, and condensed milk.
- Vanilla extract- I use vanilla extract because it is more cost-effective, but you can use the paste of a vanilla bean.
- Cinnamon- You only need a little bit of cinnamon.
- Yellow food coloring- When looking for a food coloring, try using the liquid one because it mixes more easily.
How to Make Puerto Rican Limber de Crema

- Photo 1: In a big pitcher or jar, add all of the ingredients. Mix everything for at least 2 minutes or until you no longer feel the thickness in the condensed milk.
- Photo 2: Pour the mixture equally into disposable cups and freeze for at least 12 hours
Recipe Tips
- Cinnamon. I have added the cinnamon in two ways. One in the mixture and the other after I pour the mixture. You can try either and see which one you like. But adding it after won’t be as strong as adding it to the mix.
- Vanilla flavor popsicles. You can get popsicle bags and fill the baggies. It will have a creamy texture.

Puerto Rican Limber de Crema (Vanilla Cream Frozen Cups)
Ingredients
- 10 ounces milk
- 12 ounces evaporated milk (1 can)
- 14 ounces condensed milk (1 can)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon yellow food coloring
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a big jar, bowl, or blender, add the regular, condensed, and evaporated milk along with the vanilla extract and food coloring. Mix for at least 1 minute or until you see that the sugar has dissolved.
- Pour your crema limber mix equally into disposable cups. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top. Freeze for at least 12 hours. ¡Buen provecho!
Recipe Notes
- Cinnamon- I usually add the ground cinnamon to the mix, but I notice that it will freeze on the top of the limber. It might make the first bite of the limber very strong. So it is best to just sprinkle some of the cinnamon on top.
- Freezing- A Limber can take 8-12 hours to set. But creamy limbers like this one can take a little longer. Just leave them in your freezer overnight.
- Storing- You can buy the cups that come with lids or just use regular disposable cups. The lid just helps prevent the limber from absorbing any freezer smell.
