From all the seasonings in your home, you should always have a homemade Burger Seasoning. It is very easy to make, and you can adjust it to your own personal preference.

a small jar with burger seasoning, a couple of measuring spoons and a few small dishes with spices.

This Burger Seasoning is really my go-to when making homemade smash burgers. This is a great seasoning because it is one that everyone will like.

The best part is that you can customize it for each person. It is not a spicy seasoning, so everyone can enjoy it. And if you do like spice, you just have to add a pinch.

While this may be called a seasoning for burgers, I use it in a few of my recipes, like my seared chicken or my imitation king crab salad.

    Why This Recipe Works

    • It is made with only 4 ingredients and is as easy as mix, store, and use!
    • It can be used to season almost any savory dish.
    • It is a great base to customize to everyone’s liking.

    Recipe Ingredients

all the ingredients needed to make a burger seasoning.
    • Salt- The base of the seasoning is salt. A great burger should always be seasoned with at least a little bit of salt. The type of salt I used was table salt.
    • Msg- The msg is the most important ingredient in the seasoning because it is responsible for giving it a very unique taste. It is the type of taste that stays in your mouth. Trust me that this is the ingredient that elevates the seasoning.
    • Black pepper- I used black pepper, but you can also use white pepper if you like it.
    • Garlic powder- I used garlic powder. But it is important to know that the kind of garlic powder really looks more like granulated garlic powder. There’s also garlic powder that really comes like dust, but that one is too strong for this recipe. So if you have that kind, just use half.

    Variations

    • Spicy- To add some spiciness to a seasoning, it is very common to add cayenne pepper. You can just add ⅛ of a teaspoon to the seasoning. But I prefer to use chilli powder to give it some heat. Also, use ⅛ of a teaspoon.
    • Smoky- To add a smoky flavor, paprika is the way to go, but you can add too much. I like to add just ½ of a teaspoon.
    • Color- If you want to add color and also some flavor, you can always add some all purpose sazon.

How to Make A Burger Seasoning

    • Step 1: All you have to do is measure your ingredients, pour them into a jar or storage bag, and mix.

    Recipe Tips

    • Storage– What I usually do is save old seasoning containers and store my new seasonings there. I also store the seasoning in small mason jars. The important part about storing is to make sure that it is in an airtight container. This is because if you leave this seasoning uncovered for days, it can get hard.

    Common Questions

How long does a burger seasoning last?

The seasoning mix can last for a really long time without going bad. But with time, it starts to lose its potency.

How much seasoning do I need per burger?

For a typical burger, I only like to use ½ of a teaspoon. But you can always add more. Just always start with less and then work your way up.

What else can I use Burger Seasoning In?

You can use a burger seasoning to season vegetables, salads, and fries. But you can also use it as a marinade for almost any type of meat, from seafood to chicken.
