If you love a dessert that is refreshing, you must try this Puerto Rican Limber de Menta. This is a cold dessert that has a soft, sweet flavor that combines with the smooth minty taste. It is an experience to eat one!

The Limber de Menta is not your typical limber flavor like the blueberry limber or the crema flavor limber.
While in Puerto Rico, we do make limber out of almost any foods, like the limber cheesecake flavor or the Nutella flavor limber. Mint is not one of those. We probably have the flavor, but I never had it before making this recipe.
I can tell you how this flavor came to life, but the reality is that I had some mint extract, and since I was already testing limber flavors, I decided to see if a mint flavor one was good. It was so here is the recipe!
Remember that these same ingredients are used to make the mint syrup recipe with which you’ll be able to make other recipes. Like a mint shaved ice, or just add the syrup to your coffee, lemonade, or favorite drinks.

Recipe Ingredients

- Water & sugar-We use white granulated sugar and water as the sweet base to make the syrup for the limber.
- Mint extract- The extract is the way we add the minty flavor because we are not using the fresh herb.
- Green food coloring- You only need a little bit of food coloring to get color. You can also opt to add no food coloring. The color is more a visual thing
How to Make Puerto Rican Limber de Menta

- Photo 1: In a big pitcher, jar, or bowl, add all of the ingredients. Mix everything for at least 2 minutes. You know that your mix is ready when you see no more sugar at the bottom of your jar.
- Photo 2: Pour the mixture equally into disposable cups and freeze for at least 12 hours
Recipe Tips
- Fresh mint. You can also use the fresh mint to make this limber. Just make sure to remove the extract. You have to make the simple mint syrup with the fresh mint.
- Popsicles. You can get popsicle bags and make strawberry flavor popsicles.
