In Puerto Rico, we have creamy limbers and fruity limbers, and this Puerto Rican Limber de Pitufo is one of the most popular fruity flavors. This is a blueberry-flavored frozen cup that is made with only 5 common ingredients you probably already have.

The Puerto Rican limber de Pitufo is one of the most popular fruit flavor limbers, along with the strawberry flavor limber or the parcha limber.
If you’ve never had this limber is like eating a big homemade blueberry popsicle but in a cup. Trust me when I say it’s a super delicious cold dessert to enjoy anytime of the year.
The best part is that the same recipe ingredients are used to make the blueberry syrup recipe to make the blueberry snow cone.

Recipe Ingredients

- Blueberry extract- The extract is how we add the blueberry flavor.
- Water & sugar-This is the base so our limber can have the perfect texture. For sugar, white granulated sugar is best.
- Lemon juice- The lemon juice adds a touch of acidity that is needed to balance the sweetness of the recipe.
- Blue food coloring- You only need very little food coloring to get a bright blue color.

Puerto Rican Limber de Pitufo (Blueberry Frozen Cups)
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- ¾ cups sugar
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoon blueberry extract
- ⅛ teaspoon blue food coloring
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a big bowl or a blender and mix for at least a minute.
- Pour your limber mix equally into disposable cups with lids or your preferred cups. Freeze for at least 12 hours. ¡Buen Provecho!
Recipe Notes
- Lemon juice- I used lemon juice because this helps to add acidity to the recipe. You can also use limes.
- Food coloring- I used ⅛ of a teaspoon, but start by adding a couple of drops to see if you like the color.
- Storing- I like to use disposable cups with lids to prevent the limbers from getting any freezer flavor. But you can use cups without the lids.
