One of the most popular coquito flavors is the Oreo Coquito. It tastes just like a coconut Oreo milkshake! This is also known as the cookies and cream coquito. I love to make this coquito not only in the holidays, but any time I want a creamy, sweet drink!

Once you taste this Oreo Coquito, you’ll know why it is one of the favorite coquito flavors made. To me, this coquito tastes just like a coconut cookies and cream ice cream in a cup!
Some people call the Oreo coquito a cookies and cream coquito, but it is made the same way. It has the coquito tea mix, the original coquito base, and the Oreo cookie.
This recipe is one of many of the creamy and chocolately coquitos you can make, like the Nutella coquito recipe.

Why This Recipe Works
- All you need is 15 minutes to make with ingredients you can find in any supermarket.
- You can serve it as a creamy cocktail or just as a non alcoholic drink, good for kids and adults as well.
- This is a holiday drink that is perfect served really cold on a hot sunny day. Great as a sweet treat any time of the year.
- This is like the delicious cookies and cream eggnog recipe without eggs and with a hint of coconut.
Recipe Ingredients

- Tea- The tea is important because it helps to dilute the drink so the coquito qont be so thick. It has fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
- Oreo cookies- I used the regular Oreo cookies. You can use your favorite Oreo cookie variation. I suggest the mint flavor ones, they’re delicious!
- Coconut milk- Use canned coconut milk to get the creamiest coquito. Plus, it has a stronger coconut taste. You can use the carton of coconut milk, but it significantly waters down the recipe.
- Cream of coconut- The cream of coconut is going to add a lot of sweetness to the coquito. It also adds a very deep coconut taste.
- Evaporated milk- The traditional milk used is evaporated milk because it adds a very specific flavor to the drink.
- Condensed milk- The condensed milk adds sweetness. If you want to cut the sugar amount, you can use less.
- Vanilla & cinnamon- The vanilla and cinnamon add a lot of flavor.
Variations
- Oreo Vegan coquito- To make a vegan version, you can substitute the evaporated and condensed milk for the coconut version.
- Rums- The preferred rum is the Bacardi white or gold. Use different flavored rums or liquers for a different flavor. You can use a mint or a chocolate rum, or liquor, and make a minty or chocolate Oreo version.
How to Make Oreo Coquito
- Step 1: Make the tea, boil the ginger, cinnamon sticks, anise, cloves, and water over high heat for 10 minutes. Strain and store. You can do this up to 5 days ahead. Always let it cool before adding it to the coquito mix.
- Step 2: Add the tea, cookies, coconut milk and cream, evaporated and condensed milk, vanilla, and cinnamon to a blender. Add rum if you like, and mix for 1 minute. Blend for one minute. If you want to enjoy right away, serve it over a lot of ice.
Recipe Tips
- Toppings. Serve the Oreo coquito topped with lots of crushed Oreo or grated coconut. This will give the drink a delicious crunch.
- Frozen. You can put some of the Oreo coquito in a blender with ice and make a frozen, creamy coquito. It will taste like a coconut Oreo frappe!
- Usage. You can use this recipe to add to a frosting base for donuts.
- Storage. Store the coquito for no more than 5 days.
