The Peanut Butter Coquito is another delicious coquito to make during the holidays. Trust me when I tell you that peanut butter and coconut make the perfect flavor combination.

The Peanut Butter Coquito is one of the lesser-known coquito recipes. But trust me, you don’t want to skip this one.
It has the same great coquito flavor combination as a typical coquito has just with peanut butter.
What I like about this coquito is that you can add peanuts as a crunchy topping just like with the pistachio coquito recipe.

Why This Recipe Works
- This is a quick 15-minute recipe!
- It is an easy recipe to make for a big crowd.
Recipe Ingredients

- Coquito spice tea- The tea is made with 3 base ingredients of cinnamon, cloves, and star anise. Then I added ginger, but some people add nutmeg or other spices.
- Cream of coconut & condensed milk- These 2 are responsible for flavor, but more importantly, they add the sweetness to the recipe.
- Coconut & evaporated milk- The base coquito milks are coconut and evaporated milk.
- Vanilla & cinnamon- The vanilla and cinnamon are a must because they add a lot of flavor.
- Peanut butter- I use regular peanut butter. You can use crunchy peanut butter if you want a crunchy coquito mix.
How to Make Peanut Butter Coquito
- Step 1: In a small pan, we’re going to add the water, cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger, and star anise to make the coquito tea. You’ll cook on high heat for ten minutes uncovered. Let it cool in your fridge or at room temperature while you gather the ingredients for the next step.
- Step 2: To a blender, add the peanut butter, coconut milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream of coconut, the tea, vanilla, ground cinnamon, and rum. Mix for a minute. Enjoy immediately or chill.
Recipe Tips
- Add chocolate. You can add chocolate syrup or a chocolate liquor and make this a chocolate peanut butter cocktail in a Puerto Rican style.
- Fewer calories. If you’re worried about the calories, you can use powdered peanut butter. You will still get the same great creamy peanut butter taste, minus the load of calories.
- Hot. I know that coquito is always served cold. But have you ever tried hot milk with peanut butter and liked it? Try hot peanut butter coquito. It is so good!

- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise
- 6 cloves
Peanut Butter coquito mix
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 13.5 ounces coconut milk
- 15 ounces cream of coconut
- 12 ounces evaporated milk
- 14 ounces condensed milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup rum optional
Instructions
- In a small pot over high heat, add all the tea ingredients. Cook for 10 minutes. Strain and let it cool down before adding it to the coquito mix.
- In a blender or large pitcher, add the peanut butter, 1 cup of the tea, the coconut milk and cream, the evaporated milk, condensed milk, vanilla, ground cinnamon, and rum. Mix for 1 minute on high and serve over ice. Or chill and serve when ready to enjoy. Buen provecho!
Recipe Notes
- You can choose to add rum or leave it out.
- Each drink is a little over 8 ounces, and that’s without the ounce of rum.
- Always leave space when filling up your coquito bottle because you need space to shake the drink. This is because you have to mix the drink before pouring.
