One of the best guava drinks you can make is this Guava Coquito. This coquito is perfect because it is a popular holiday drink. But it is perfect on a hot summer day.

a cup with a guava flavor coquito and a few guava paste pieces on the side.

In Puerto Rico, we use a lot of tropical flavors in all of our recipes just like in this Guava Coquito. The perfect mix of tropical flavors!

The coquito with guava is one of the few coquitos that not only do I love to make on the holidays, but also in the summertime. I love it because of how refreshing it is, just like the strawberry coquito recipe.

This coquito is very creamy and sweet. It is very similar in flavor to the champola recipe.

    Why This Recipe Works

    • All the ingredients you need to make this drink can be found in your local supermarket or online.
    • You don’t need fresh guava because we use guava paste.

    Recipe Ingredients

all the ingredients needed to make a guava coquito.
    • Tea spices- The tea is very simple to make, and it is a must in the recipe. This tea is going to help dilute the drink and make it not so thick. It has fresh ginger, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon.
    • Coquito base mix- The coquito base is always made from coconut milk. Canned milk is the best for the coquito. It also has cream of coconut, condensed milk, evaporated milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
    • Guava paste- All you need is guava paste, which is great because it lasts a long time, unlike the fresh fruit.

    How to Make Guava Coquito

    • Step 1: In a small pan, add all the tea ingredients and cook for 10 minutes uncovered. Remove the spices and then cool before adding the tea to the coquito mix.
    • Step 2: To a blender, add the guava paste, coconut milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream of coconut, the tea, vanilla, and rum (if you want to add it). Mix for a minute. Enjoy immediately or chill.

    Recipe Tips

    • Rum. When making this coquito for a party, it is best to make it without the alcohol. This is great because you can add the rum to each drink, so even those who don’t drink can enjoy this delicious coquito. Make it a

    Instructions

    • In a small pot over high heat, add the water, ginger, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 star anise, and 6 cloves. Cook for 10 minutes uncovered so the water can evaporate . Strain the tea and let it cool to room temperature.
    • In a blender, add the guava paste, 1 cup of the tea, the coconut milk, coconut cream, evaporated milk, condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and rum. Mix for 1 minute on high. Serve over a lot of ice and garnish. Or chill, Buen provecho!

    Recipe Notes
