One of the most delicious fruit flavor coquitos is the Strawberry Coconut. Two delicious ingredients that make one of the best combinations in a cocktail.

The Strawberry Coquito is perfection in a cup. It is very similar in flavor to the berry coconut smoothie recipe. But the coquito has the coquito spice tea recipe.
Even though I love this coquito recipe during the Christmas holidays, like most of us Puerto Ricans. But this coquito makes the perfect Valentine’s Day drink or a date night drink.

Why This Recipe Works
- You can use fresh, frozen, or even canned strawberries for your convenience, and the recipe will still be delicious.
- It can be a good strawberry base for other dessert recipes or drinks.
Recipe Ingredients

- 4 spice tea- The tea is very easy to make. This spice tea is going to add a lot of flavor to the coquito. It is the base, along with the coconut milk, to make the coquito drink.
- Coquito base mix- We use the same coquito base as all other flavors, including the original coquito drink. It has canned milk, which is the creamiest. It also has cream of coconut, condensed milk, evaporated milk, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- Strawberries- I used frozen strawberries. But fresh strawberries can also be used. If you don’t have strawberries, don’t worry, use your favorite berry, and the coquito will still be super delicious.
How to Make A Strawberry Coquito
- Step 1: In a small pan, we add all the tea ingredients to cook for 10 minutes uncovered. Let it rest while you gather your other ingredients or cool in the fridge.
- Step 2: Add the strawberries, coconut milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream of coconut, the tea, vanilla, cinnamon, and rum (if you want to add it) to a blender. You can also add everything to a big pitcher and use an immersion blender. Mix for a minute. Chill or enjoy right away and serve over ice.
Recipe Tips
- Strawberry pie filling. In the supermarket, you can get a strawberry pumpkin pie filling, which is great to use in the coquito. This is because it already comes in a sweet syrup.
- You can make this recipe as a Puerto Rican strawberry eggnog. You just have to add the eggs. Or it will just be an eggless eggnog.

- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise
- 6 cloves
Strawberry Coquito Mix
- 8 ounces strawberries
- 13.5 ounces coconut milk
- 15 ounces cream of coconut
- 12 ounces evaporated milk
- 14 ounces condensed milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup rum optional
Instructions
- Prepare the spice tea. In a small pot over high heat, add all the tea ingredients. Add the water, ginger, 2 cinnamon sticks, 3 star anise, and 6 cloves. Cook for 10 minutes, strain, and let it cool down before adding to the rest of the mix.
- Make the strawberry coquito mix. In a blender, add your strawberry, 1 cup of the tea, coconut milk and cream, the evaporated milk, condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and rum. Mix for 1 minute on high. Serve immediately over ice and garnish, or chill. Buen provecho!
Recipe Notes
- Strawberry. I used frozen strawberries, but you can use fresh strawberries or canned strawberries if you like.
- Yield. Each drink is a little over 8 ounces, and that’s without the ounce of rum.
- When filling up your coquito bottles, make sure to leave at least 2 inches at the top so you can mix before serving.
